Commitment as a strength: How Jasmin Tebrake thrives on her diverse responsibilities

Bringing together what belongs together: Jasmin Tebrake first encountered Lebbing automation & drives GmbH while she was training as an Industrial Management Assistant. Years later, she started working in Bocholt as an assistant to the management, but it did not stop there: within a very short time, the mother of two took on more responsibility at Lebbing and also at Jagenberg Converting Solutions GmbH (JCS). In this interview, the 37-year-old reveals how she successfully manages all her tasks despite working part-time.

Mrs Tebrake, you are a true all-rounder and have become an indispensable part of Lebbing and JCS. How did your journey with Jagenberg Group begin?

I came into contact with Lebbing very early on. During my training at a partner company, I had the opportunity to work at Lebbing in Bocholt for a couple of months so I could gain an insight into their business areas. I really enjoyed my time there back then, so I was even more delighted in 2023 when I came across the online job advertisement for an assistant to the management. I was ready for a new professional challenge and, after being hired, I started out with smaller assistant tasks. Initially, I took over internal travel planning as an interface to the central travel office. Over time, accounting tasks added to my responsibilities, and finally I took on an interface role in marketing for JCS and Lebbing. Here, I work closely with Silke Löser, the central communications and marketing manager at Jagenberg Holding, and get involved in topics such as trade fair planning, social media campaigns and newsletter creation. I really enjoy these tasks a lot! Recently, I have also been given the opportunity to support the HR department at JCS, where I can apply the experience I have gained in my previous job.

"Lebbing automation & drives GmbH" is based in Bocholt. The company is managed by Thomas and Guido Lebbing. The automation and drive control division is represented by Lebbing automation & drives GmbH within Jagenberg Group.

That is quite a lot! Were you aware of this when you applied?

Absolutely not! I did not really know what to expect. My areas of responsibility have simply evolved – and to be honest, I would not want it any other way. I love the dynamics and variety! Static tasks are just not my thing. I like to throw myself into challenges and work my way into new topics.

There are many threads coming together at the same time – how do you ensure no mistakes are made?

Everyone makes mistakes. But that is a positive thing, because mistakes are a learning experience and the only way to develop. I think I am open to criticism; people can always talk to me. I reflect and learn from my mistakes so that I can do better next time. It motivates me enormously when I can grow through my tasks. My aim is simply to be committed in everything I do.

Would you say that this commitment is part of your recipe for success?

Absolutely! I set high standards for myself and have developed a workfl ow model that suits me perfectly. I use many tools to keep track of my tasks and schedule fi xed work blocks for my various responsibilities. Then I do not stop working until I have completed everything I have set out to do for the day. This commitment is very important to me: I want people to be able to rely on me and for what I say to be consistent. I expect the same from my counterparts.

That sounds like an enthusiastic attitude. Do you have any role models who have inspired you?

In general, I am inspired by people who always see the good in things and just get things done. One of these people was my father. He always said, ‘You can do anything you want!’ I still hold that close to my heart today. With intrinsic motivation, enjoyment, and interest, you can move mountains. That is how I manage to get all my work done in a 33-hour week

That’s remarkable! How do you envision your future at the company? Are there other areas you would like to learn more about?

Well, I cannot take on any more tasks at the moment. I also need to find time for my family somewhere. The balance between activity and rest is very important to me. That is why I always try to create little moments for myself: when doing sports, spending time with friends or enjoying activities with my husband and two children. Professionally, however, I never say never and always remain open to new opportunities.

With your mindset, there is no doubt you can do it, Mrs Tebrake. We wish you all the best and thank you for the friendly conversation!
